Impression
At the moment of visiting there appeared to be a pop star in this hotel, relaxing in all the luxury there is. On the guarded sidewalk was a crowd of people singing songs of this star. The hotel is just outside the centre of the city, but in walking range of the big attractions in Amsterdam. The building looks very well maintained and doesn’t miss anything it should need.

reception
The big hall with ditto stairs can be used perfectly for a picture of some royal couple. However you don’t have time to look at the stairs very long, before you know it you’re surrounded by a few staff people that want to tell you all about the building style, the paintings or famous people who visited the hotel (without giving away their names). The staff will have seen many hotels in their line of work and want to see this hotel as their last. This can be noticed by everything they do or say.

public areas
The public areas in this hotel can be used for fantastic meetings. The halls are inviting for parties and the restaurants and their accompanied spaces are inviting for receiving the most incredible food. The high corridors are all maintained very well and will never look any less. The only thing that might be a bit unpleasant is the visit of famous people who claim their own spaces in the hotel.

rooms
Although not all the rooms could be seen, and because of that not all the different types of rooms could be judged, the first impression is ‘wow’! From the very light rooms to the shower, these rooms are worth staying at and not visiting the city at all. You feel right at home when you find your suitcases put in your room for you. Everything has been thought of; a place to sit and very room has a view on Amsterdam or the river Amstel (not called after the hotel, but the other way around).

halls
The hotel has got a few halls. Every hall (mirror hall) has its own air, but all fit in the luxury of the hotel. Further more there are smaller halls, which are suitable for a drink with the Rotary club. The halls may not be suitable for groups larger than 120 or 130 people, but are inviting for smaller meetings. There is only one negative point and that is that the target group of this hotel is older, in that way that it might not be targeted for young people.

situation
The hotel is situated next to the famous theatre Carré and along the river Amstel. Smaller boats will pass you by al day long. The tram on which you can reach the centre is within a minute walk as well as the subway, connected with the suburb Amstelveen. It only takes a short walk to reach the centre. The hotel is situated on a nice and quiet place just outside the centre.
