Impression
A nice looking building situated in the ambassador district of The Hague. The building looks bigger on the outside than it is on the inside. After the bad impressions we’ve had in the 5 star Crown Plaza’s in The Netherlands, this finally seemed a hotel that could satisfy on the demands and expectations of a 5 star hotel. When entering the building it is noticed that this is a small lovely hotel that reminds you of the family hotels in earlier times.
reception
Because the hotel is a bit smaller, you will be received very friendly, although you have to carry your own luggage. There isn’t really a lobby, the room is too small for that, but it looks nice and English.
public areas
The public areas are limited, besides the small sitting corner. You can sit in the restaurant, but you have to wait for the bar to open until the evening. Then you will be able to sit in an underground bar/restaurant outside the hotel. The idea of this underground bar is great, but the hotel and the bar are two worlds apart. When you felt classy in the hotel, you will feel in style of the Argentinean Grill in the bar. Very nice too, but you have to like it.
rooms
The rooms are furnitured beautifully and will give you the real ambassador feeling. They can be called stately. The rooms have all they need and nothing is missing from them.
halls
The hotel has got two different halls for approximately thirty to fifty people, but they aren’t very spacious. The hotel should not be recommended for its halls. The hotel is a nice place to spend the night, but because of the low rates the people in the hotel can be a disappointment, like you see in the Crowne Plaza hotels too.
situation
The situation is nice and handy as opposed to The Hague. The hotel has got its own parking lot, so travelling by car is recommended, because of the tram stop too, that isn’t very near.
